Martha, Martha Martha!

Yes, I know, it's actually "Marsha, Marsha, Marsha!" but I much prefer Martha since I am obsessed with her website!

I plan on making this very soon, but instead of a centerpiece, I plan to make a wreath for the front door!

And I need to host another dinner party so I can have it on the back porch and decorate with these! (of course...I would need patio furniture first, minor detail)

Here are some other crafts by dear Martha that I cold totally get into:

Who wants to have a craft party at my house!?!?!?

Crash, Bang, Boom and Yum

How was everyone's Easter?

Ours was yummy and painful, wierd combination, I know!

While I had Easter linner (lunch/dinner) at PB's house, Seth was out 4wheelin with R and R's brother. So I had the yummy part and he had the painful part.

The trails they were riding were pretty wet from all the rain we've been having and on one particular straight-away Seth was going fast (as always) and started going through a puddle (not normally any cause for concern). Well as he was going through, his front wheels sank down into the mud and instead of the wheels staying straight and going through the puddle fine, they turned abruptly and sent him and the 4 wheeler tumbling-thankfully in oposite directions. Seth said he landed about 25 feet away from the 4wheeler after doing some somersaults, rolls and sliding to a stop. Thankfully R's brother was riding behind Seth and was able to be there when it happened to make sure he was Ok, and he was, besides having the breath knocked out of him, being scratched up and bruising some ribs. It definitely could have been a lot worse, so we Thank God that it wasn't!

The 4wheeler made it out fairly unscathed. The handlebars were bent pretty bad, and Seth got them close to normal, but we will probably have to replace them b/c when you are driving now, it feels like you are constantly turning right with the new angle they are at.

So we had an interesting day! That was the highlight (lowlight??) of the day. Other than that we had gone to church, volunteered in the nursery, went to Walmart, the grocery store, baked a carrot cake, made mud/dirt, and went to dinner at Bonefish for A's birthday (R's wife). Long day!

Wanna Do Life With Me??

Tonight is Life Group!! I'm excited as always, and as always I have a million and one things to do before anyone rings the doorbell! Seth is right, I'm a procrastinator, but I'm good at it! :)

Today I'm leaving work at 3 (b/c its the day before a holiday, I'm ahead of my hours and because I CAN!) I'm going to fly home (except through the area where the cop was hiding two days ago), put the meatballs that I froze into the crockpot to cook/heat through, mow the front and back yard, finish cleaning the kitchen, bake some cookies and make some more chocolate fondue to dip strawberries, bannanas, grapes and marshmellows into. Other than that I will serve some carrots and ranch...I think that should be enough food. I believe it's going to be a small crowd tonight, only 5-7 of the original 10. I thought about making these, but I don't have any zucchini and I refuse to make the store trip today, not that I have time to do it anyway.

What are your Easter plans? Who else has tomorrow off and is loving it!?!? Partly sunny and warm with highs in the mid 70's!!! Awesome!

My plans for this weekend consist of coffee with C tomorrow morning then taking the dogs to the lake for a run and swim. Saturday, hopefully 4wheelin with Seth, R & A if the weather cooperates. Sunday, church at 8, nursery at 9:15, then to PB's at 3 for an Easter egg hunt, dinner and socializing. The End! It's always amazing how fast weekends go by....

Good Friends, Good Food, Interesting Conversation

Last night we had our friends C & M over for dinner. We had such a good time! I made a clove pineapple ham with mashed red potatoes, steamed asparagus and carrots and crescent rolls. For dessert we had chocolate fondue with marshmellows, pineapple, strawberries and bannanas for dipping. YUM!!!! I would have taken a picture, but I didn't want to hold up the feast, we were hungry! But the table looked great. We ate at the dinning room table and I made these to be our centerpiece since this was a Easter inspired dinner. I had to go here to actually figure out how to make them though.

Clove-Pineapple Ham
1 smoked ham
about 1 T of whole cloves
1 can pineapple slices (the rings)
1 can Coke

Preheat oven to 300F. Put enough tin foil in a 1" deep baking pan to cover the the ham for cooking. Place ham in pan/tinfoil. Lightly slice the top of the ham to make a diamond pattern. Insert a clove at every "x" on the ham, lay pineapple slices all over (I sometimes hang them by the cloves in difficult spots), pour about 1/4-1/2 of the can of coke over the ham. Cover and bake about 15-20 minutes per pound of ham. I had a 6 pound ham so I cooked it for about an hour and a half.

Chocolate Fondue
12 squares semi-sweet bakers chocolate
3/4 cup heavy whipping cream/whipping cream

Melt and mix the chocolate and cream together. Dip away! That's it!

Thank you C & M for coming over!!! We had a great time and we must do this again!

A Fun Filled Weekend!

What a fun weekend I had!

My friend Selena came down this weekend with her son Xman! Maris came too, she wanted to play with Ford and Shelby. We had such a good time! Friday night for dinner I made this.

Saturday morning we rebuilt a flower bed of mine and X was such a good helper! He was digging holes and moving dirt as well as keeping the dogs occupied by throwing the ball for them (He has quite an arm!).
Then we went to an Easter egg hunt at Bond Park! They had firetrucks, ambulances and McGruff the crime stopper dog! X wasn't so sure about McGruff, but he played it off well. Then off to hunt Easter eggs!
We decided to stop for a sweet treat at Goodberry's where our friend Kate met up with us so we could all hang out and go to Harris Lake. Xander had a great time running through the woods with the dogs and inspecting different plants, holes, bugs and lots of pollen! Saturday night I made this for dinner. (which is a lot like a recipe I got from this lady)

It was an awesome weekend! Sunday we made one last trip to Harris Lake so Xman could tell the jungle gym who was boss and then they were off :(

Sunday afternoon Seth and I went and helped our life groupers, B & L, move into their first home!! Congratulations guys!

Dinner at El Dorado capped off a great weekend!!!! What did you guys do?

Happy April Fools Day!!!

Have you ever played a joke on somebody for April Fools Day?

I don't think I have ever played an April Fools joke on someone! Not since elementary school at least. How boring I am!!!

Seth got me and his mom good the first year we were together. He called me, and acting very guilty said that he had gotten another speeding ticket (he was real good at collecting those for a while!). I was pissed!!! I tried to calmly talk to him, but my anger got the best of me and I got off the phone in a hurry saying I would have to talk to him tonight b/c I couldn't contain myself. About 20 seconds later he called me back just laughing, laughing, laughing saying "Happy April Fools!!" I could have really killed him then! Then he went on to explain that he got his mom worse. He told his mother I was pregnant!!! I think she actually handled it really well until he told her he was joking, then of course she was relieved and let him have it for tricking her that way!

Needless to say, I'm not going to believe anything that comes out of his mouth today!

Share your best/worse April Fool's Day experience!
