Happy Birthday Seth!!!

Today is my handsome Hubby's birthday!!!

Happy Birthday Honey! I Love You!

Unlike last year, I have no idea what to get him for his birthday. He might not get anything at all and I think he would be Ok with that which is definitely Ok with me :)

Tonight we are going to the Christmas service at church, then out to dinner with our life group and then to Katmandu to see one of Seth's DJ friends spin. This is the same DJ we were supposed to see at Metro, but we ended up not going. I'm hoping I have the energy for all of this running around though. Yesterday I was sooo weak. I left work at 3:20ish and went home and slept until 7:30, got up, ate, and went back to bed and slept all night! This healing crap takes a lot of energy! :)

Anyhoo, enough about me, Happy Birthday Seth!!!!

Cookies with Mom

Pictures to come!

Yesterday I spent the entire day at Mom's house making cookies to mail to my uncle and cousins. And when I say all day, I mean all day! I got there about 9:30am and left right around 8pm. But we had a lot of fun.

We made:
Snickerdoodles
Oatmeal Cookies
Wedding cookies
M&M cookies
Haystacks
Peanut Butter cookies
Sugar cookies with decorating icing

We made two batches of fudge too, but for some reason they just didn't turn out well, so we threw them out. Fudge is a tricky beast! Although we will definitely have to try again b/c it is sooo delicious!

I was exhausted by the time I got home and think I probably over did it a little for still recovering from oral surgery. Oh well....

What did y'all do this weekend?

All I Want for Christmas is.....

My wisdom teeth!

This morning I had my wisdom teeth removed. It went really well and I'm not in a lot of pain, so all is good in my book! Seth was a little bummed out because I wasn't all loopy when they got done, so he didn't get a chance to make fun of me. Although, he may get his chance yet, they prescribed me all kinds of pain meds! I could start a pharmacy!

But that's all for now folks, time to lounge around and relax so my mouth can heal. Have a great weekend!

Xmas 09

Merry Christmas!!

This is the first year since Seth and I have been together that we will be home for the holidays, so we decided to get our first tree!

The wreath was sent to us from Seth's awesome Nanny. I need to get a bow, but isn't it gorgeous!?

Seth bringing in the tree....

After decorating....

These are obviously before I cleaned up all the needles at the base, but I promise they are cleaned up now. We had to bring in the reinforcements (aka the shop vac) to get them all up! And I should probably take a picture with the lights off....
Here are some of the ornaments I've collected over the years courtesy of my Mom. It's a very nice tradition she made for us! Each year we go to the fair and go see the guy who makes these and order one. This year I'm a little late, but I'm still planning on getting one if I can find his information....

Apparently, I was on a fairy kick for a while.

Then a Noah's Ark phase.

After my cat, Sport, growing up.

KatieLion and AshleighPosey after my best friend and my nicknames for eachother in high school. There's a funny story as to how I got my name, but I think I just made hers up.

Not sure.....maybe from my mom the year Seth and I got Ford?

I thought this one was perfect seeing as how Seth and I have been doing a lot of fishing this year. Had I not seen this one, something along its lines would have been one of my options for our ornament this year. Now that I know we have it, I have a back up plan :)
There is also a bear one from when I was obviously a lot younger, but its old and has no string to hang by, so I left it carefully wrapped.
Hope you enjoyed our Christmas!

Symbolism

What do you think of when you see this:

It's a men's wedding band. The exact one my husband had. Yes, I said HAD!

Sunday while eating lunch with some friends my husband suddenly noticed that his wedding band was missing from his finger. He never takes it off, although he does fiddle with it a lot (twisting it on his finger, bringing it up to his knuckle then back), the cool temperatures may have played a factor in its disappearance too, unless maybe it came off in the shower....we are not sure. He can't remember the last time he had it on, but thinks he had it on in church.

Anyway, during the process of realizing the loss, the ensuing search for it, and conclusion that it is gone for good and will need to be replaced I was surprised by how upset I got. It is just a ring after all. An object. But an object that I believe holds a lot of meaning, and defintely has many memories associated with it, specifically the memory of when I placed it on his finger 2 1/2 years ago stating that we would love eachother til death do us part. I am not necessarily mad, but sad. And even if I was mad, I could not be mad at Seth as he didn't lose it on purpose.

What are your thoughts? Has your spouse ever lost their wedding ring? How did it make you feel? Did you feel anything at all?
