It's a men's wedding band. The exact one my husband had. Yes, I said HAD!
Sunday while eating lunch with some friends my husband suddenly noticed that his wedding band was missing from his finger. He never takes it off, although he does fiddle with it a lot (twisting it on his finger, bringing it up to his knuckle then back), the cool temperatures may have played a factor in its disappearance too, unless maybe it came off in the shower....we are not sure. He can't remember the last time he had it on, but thinks he had it on in church.
Anyway, during the process of realizing the loss, the ensuing search for it, and conclusion that it is gone for good and will need to be replaced I was surprised by how upset I got. It is just a ring after all. An object. But an object that I believe holds a lot of meaning, and defintely has many memories associated with it, specifically the memory of when I placed it on his finger 2 1/2 years ago stating that we would love eachother til death do us part. I am not necessarily mad, but sad. And even if I was mad, I could not be mad at Seth as he didn't lose it on purpose.
What are your thoughts? Has your spouse ever lost their wedding ring? How did it make you feel? Did you feel anything at all?

I lost mine once (remember that??). I was really sad too. I felt naked without it. Bucky went through a time when he refused to wear his and that just hurt my feelings, really bad. It is a symbol of your life together, the past AND the future. I totally get you being sad.
I agree. It is completely normal to feel sad and upset. Even though it is just an object, it holds sentimental value of a very special time for you and Seth.
My diamond once fell out and I was devastated! Chris acted like it was no big deal because it was insured, but I was more upset because it meant so much. I ended up finding it the next day in the Target parking lot. The moral is, don't lose hope, it could still pop up...and women tend to hold more sentimental value than men...so don't be too hard on Seth if he isn't showing emotion for the loss.
Hope that helps :)
OH man, I'm so sorry. I can understand feeling sad about it, because it is such a symbol and the one you picked out for this huge commitment. Thankfully it is only a representation of the commitment and I hope that the new ring will have even more symbolism to you both. I think I would be really sad too. Love you:-)
